Some years just drift past. Some scream past in a hurry leaving you breathless and wondering where they went. Some crawl – unspeakably awful and never ending, leaving you feeling wrecked and raw.
Last year was a good one, and I didn’t really comprehend how good until I saw the overviews that are so plentiful at the moment. BIG changes globally and spiritually. Our ‘sorry‘ that was the beginning of our healing as a nation. The election of Obama that will hopefully bring a new beginning to the US after what looked like one long train wreck of a presidency from over here. Global meltdowns that were horrible for so many reasons, but that may bring a more wholesome way of living based on what is really important to so many of us. There have been some big kicks in the guts to a lot of people. Natural disasters, and huge calls to action on many, many fronts. I feel that it has been a year of turning new pages, exposing the new, and I’m looking forward to the new chapters that are slowly being revealed.
In what seems kind of symbolic for me, my son got one of these for Christmas. A phenomenal 3 wheeled scooter that moves without pushing, by wiggling your hips. So fun, so effortless, and a reminder to me that life can be like that sometimes – stop pushing so hard and just see what happens. More fun, more distance covered. Less agro. Oh yeah. 🙂
At our little new years family lunch yesterday. Same spot we’ve been going for a few years now. Loving that.
Personally I am looking forward to a big year workwise. A solo show coming up in April that I will be working frantically to get organised for. I am excited about where my work is going, and am really enjoying the ride. I am still surprising myself in a nice way. Happy 2009!
YATTA (crikey this made me giggle) to everyone out there. I hope you are as hopeful and optimistic about 2009 as I am. Thank you for your comments, for caring, for your friendship, for coming to visit here. I hope your 2009 is fantastic. I have a feeling it is going to be AWESOME.
PS: We drew the Pay It forward participants the other day. Thank you to those who felt they would like to participate. It’s such a fun thing to be involved with. The 3 folks are here, here and here. Hopefully they will be patient with me, and be as excited about passing the joy on as I am. It’s a special ride. 🙂
