The approach, 2008, oil on board, 30cm x 30cm
Yesterday we said goodbye to my treasured Grandmother. On the long drive home it started to rain, and almost 20 hours later it is still raining hard. Fresh, nourishing, cleansing, life-giving rain. Forcing one to snuggle inside and reflect on the possibility of going out.
I love the rain. It brings hope, and new life. Blows the cobwebs away. And in our present drought is the greatest gift of all and beautiful to watch.
The last year has been a big one for me in so many ways.
Reassessment of so many things, including the way I relate to others and my view of self has left me feeling on some levels just exhausted. On other levels frighteningly optimistic and grateful to be present and on the journey.
I am thirsty and soaking it up, and looking forward to seeing what tender sprouts emerge…
