Look what I found in the bread the other day.

It did make me giggle.
Italian soup
- 2 potatoes (diced)
- 1 large onion (diced)
- 3 zucchini (diced)
- 1 can tomatoes
- 1.5 litres of boiling water (or stock)
- salt, pepper
- olive oil
Put a splash of olive oil with the onions and zucchini in a large saucepan over a medium heat and cook until the onions have become soft and the zucchini has started to break down, stirring from time to time (usually about 10 mins).
Add the tin of tomatoes, potatoes and water (or stock). Cook for another 15 mins until the potatoes will squash under the back of your wooden spoon.
Add salt and pepper to taste, and when serving splash some olive oil over the top of the soup (you don’t need to do this, but it does add an extra layer of taste).

Serve with toast or bread.

What is it in the bread?
Can’t you see the little faces going Oh!
Perhaps I should get out more…
hehehe. i thought they were grimacing, actually.
and thanks for the recipe. always up for a new soup at this time of year. kind of getting over the minestrone, thai pumpkin and cauliflower korma basics of mine!
i am looking for a good chicken and veg one but i know i’m not gonna find that here!
btw – don’t go to tessuti. it’s wicked…
Oh! I see them!!! I thought you meant there was chunk of something in the bread haha It’s like the scream.
i think the bread is expressing fear of being eaten … they realise that when soup appears, it’s them next! i love potato in soup, it really adds to the texture.
