It has always been amusing to me to watch fellow travellers – on public transport or in life who stay where they are comfortable.
They know what they like and they like to know what they like.
You know them – frozen at some point. In their (passed) youth. When they found their spouse. When they had kids. When they travelled and felt carefree and stylish.
I think, sometimes you have to shake it up a bit.
Though it’s easy to stay with what you know, perfect it and be cosy in the knowledge that it works, it can be good to do stuff that you never thought you would and see how it feels without prejudice.
Chat to a stranger and see if you can make them smile. Order something for lunch that you’ve never tried before (and don’t quite know what it is). Buy an item of clothing that isn’t you (yesterday – but may be tomorrow). Take a course in something you’ve always been curious about. Walk into a gallery you’ve never been to before and consider what it might be like to have one of those works on your walls, and how it might change your daily life. Borrow a random book at the library and read it. Go see a film at 9.00 at the closest cinema to you without censoring what it might be.
The new you is waiting to come out and play. I wonder who I am going to be…..

fun!
