There is something intrinsically crass about showing you what I found, and brought home.
I am sorry for that, but find myself so rarely in the situation of being child-free with money – alright I confess – plastic, that I went a bit silly, and you know I don’t regret a moment of it.
Yesterday was the [...]

For the past few years I have been customising clothes for myself, and for my kids with applique.
Applique is a fun tactile project with great results and my head often fills with new ideas for projects, and it would be enjoyable to collate projects, designs and inspirations in a more tangible form. I am very [...]

First things first.
Thanks so much to everyone who left a comment yesterday. There was much smiling going on at this end.
This random number generator picked commenter 11 – Moving Hands.

Today is a special day.
I started writing my blog just over a year ago. It’s for me – which is why I forgive myself for my self-indulgence. I hope that you sometimes see yourself in there too, and that makes you feel connected to humanity.
The blog thing gives back in so many ways – if [...]
It’s scientific – self portrait wednesday

I swing wildly between not caring what you think about how I look, and thinking I should do my very best to make sure you have nothing to pick on.
In the pursuit of the latter I have a weakness… The astonishing ability of certain garments to transform. It’s a science, and not one that I [...]

These will be appearing as part of the ‘garden’ display by Living Creatively at the Stitches and Craft Show coming up this weekend.
I’m really looking forward to visiting this show, and it’s exciting to have something there as a part of ‘living creatively’ – is a bit of fun. I just hope [...]

I should blog this.
I shouldn’t blog this.
I should blog this….
I have had a heady, intense, scary, exhilarating, adrenalin-fuelled extended period of months. There have been great bits, and low bits. Stressful bits and times when I have felt like I’m on a flying fox and the view is spectacular.
Now the show is up [...]

Remember how much fun this was?
Yesterday we strung up a cubby between chairs and sofas with an old sheet – blankets and cushions on the floor inside – pretend picnic food and some books.
It wouldn’t have been ‘camping’ without a pretend spider would it…. She’s thorough my girl.
And mamma got to do some reading
The book [...]
Life Lines – the exhibition

Last night was fantastic!
We had about 60 people turn up – most of whom I didn’t know. It was lively and had a great buzz about it. People were smiling and chatting, and looking and talking. And eating cupcakes.

I sold 5, which was a great start, but the most important thing for [...]

Today I am baking cupcakes – trying to distract myself from my first big solo show that is opening tonight.
I am always writing shopping lists on my hands, on bits of paper that get lost in the bottom of my bag etc… There is a packet of tags that has been kicking around the kitchen [...]
