Cakes made from this book – shared with a dear friend (and ooooh they were good).
School holidays are drawing to a close. It has been blissful in lots of ways – hard to juggle in others. We are feeling rested, excited about times to come, and looking forward to seeing some faces we havn’t seen in a while.
Zara is back at creche on Monday after a break as well, and while I think she would rather be at home, the society will do her good. This year she starts kinder as well, and to be honest, I think I am more excited than she is. I LOVE to see them grow and bloom and expand their horizons and bring it all back home. This is the best part of being a parent – letting them try out all the lessons they have hopefully started with you.
And that’s the icing on the cake.

Oh yummmm! I’m on a health kick now, and those cakes look soooo tempting!
And the icing just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter. I watched my little girl finish school a few weeks back and in a few weeks I’ll watch her set out for her first day at uni. The pigtails are gone but the smiling eyes still light up as they used to when she tries new things. Delicious!
