I looked up the topic for Illustration Friday yesterday and saw it was ‘Sprout’. Timely for me with an exhibition hung and opened, and news that I made a sale at Linden’s Postcard Show as well.
Last week was a difficult one, with a death in our family, pre-exhibition stress, and (least importantly, but still there) – news that I didn’t make it through the ‘She Who Dreams’ comp pre-selection, and that Tusk would like me to swap my work over for some new stuff (no sales for the Dolls series).
Follow this with a lovely opening, some sales, and a beautiful sunny day yesterday and today I’m feeling very hopeful, optimistic and excited. I feel like I’m ready to sprout again.
This afternoon we have to say goodbye to my dear Grandmother’s much-loved husband, which will certainly we difficult, but it will be wonderful to see him celebrated as he would never have allowed or felt comfortable with in life. He was special in so many ways and will be sadly missed by an awful lot of people.
Here’s to endings and beginnings.

Looking cool! It reminds me of a leunig cartoon – the curly bit at the top:) I’ll have to give this one a go too! My first one!
VERY MEANINGFUL! Wonderful work!
Great illo!
